Sitting Shiva shouldn’t have the pressure of hosting a party.

Shiva Circle can help.

Why Sit Shiva?

“Shiva” means seven in Hebrew, as in the Jewish tradition of seven days of mourning, starting after returning home from the funeral.

During shiva, mourners remain home while family, friends and neighbors take care of our basic needs and offer comfort. By taking a week away from our regular lives, we feel less alone in our grief and connect with community.

“Shiva is the time I heard all the stories I didn't know. It was unbelievable. I never thought I'd ever want to sit shiva for seven days and just be there, but it was one of the best experiences we ever had.”

-Susan, who sat shiva with her children and family when her husband died
