Be among the first to use this new digital platform for organizing shiva, Powered By OneTable. Your feedback helps shape the future of how people sit shiva.
Here’s What to Expect:
Before you start creating your shiva events, we recommend having the following information handy:
The dates, times, and locations for shiva as well as the maximum number of people the space can accommodate
The family’s dietary needs
A list of ways people can help the mourners such as by bringing food or items like chairs
Links to the obituary, charitable contributions, MealTrain, and a Zoom link, if you will be hosting a virtual gathering
If you are the mourner, we recommend having a friend or relative help you by creating a Shiva Circle account under their email and serving as the point person.
That way, they can manage any notifications and keep in touch with guests.
You (and your guests) will need to make an account to create shiva events and to RSVP for shiva
As you enter shiva details, select the “Copy” feature if the information will be the same for each shiva event
Use the “Add a Day” feature and name each shiva event with the family’s name and the day of the week such as: Leonard Cohen Shiva Tuesday
Include all the ways people can help during shiva before you finish. Items cannot be added or removed once the event has been published.
Events do not save automatically. Select “Save as Draft” if you need to step away and finish creating your shiva events later.
Do not hit your browser’s back button while creating your shiva events as details will not be saved
After entering all of the shiva details, select “Publish All Days”
This step is required to save all details and allow people to RSVP
To invite people, click the green “Share or Manage Shiva Details” button and select “Invite Others” to email guests or generate a link or QR code you can send directly.
Please note that people will receive a separate email for each day of shiva they are invited to attend.
Hosts will automatically receive an email when someone RSVPs.
If you need additional support, we recommend consulting our How Tos.
